Nico had been in a bad enough mood when he had come back from the lake that Lilly had made a quick getaway, not quite sure where she would end up. For a while, the red haired girl had walked around the lake, watching as a few Poseidon campers had gone for a swim as the moon rose in the sky, but once they had left, she had been alone again. She had already been to the forges today, picking up Nico’s sword like his note had asked, so she didn’t have a real excuse to go see the Hephaestus kids again. Finally, she had decided to go to the archery pitch.
Lilly had been born in a much stricter time, and as such, she had a hard time making herself learn any sort of weapon. It simply wasn’t ladylike, and while Lilly knew that such an attitude was crippling to her, she couldn’t bring herself to break that moral rule. The idea of wielding a knife, of doing such a masculine thing, made her stomach queasy. Yet what was the alternative? Did she really want the ground to swallow up someone else whole at her own behest? When it came down to it, that was even more nauseating than learning to wield a sword, but neither were pleasing.
Some daughter of Hades she was.
In the end, Lilly decided that the least offensive weapon she could use was a bow and arrow, and as such, she had taken one of the equipment stores and set up a target. She had seen enough of the other campers do it that it seemed like it should be straightforward enough, and as she experimentally pulled the bowstring back to loose her arrow, it fell. Muttering to herself, she stooped, picking it up again. She closed her eyes, letting the arrow fly, but it was a disappointment- it went maybe a foot and lodged itself into the ground. Sighing, she retrieved it, but her second and third tries weren’t much better. It was harder than it looked.
Maybe she should give up.
She set her jaw stubbornly. She had to learn something- she hadn’t survived Midas just to be killed by a monster, not when she could do something about it. Besides, how would she face her father in the Underworld for the first time as a ghost, claiming that she had been trying to stay “womanly” instead of alive?
Particularly when this time’s idea of womanly had changed so much? That little brunette- Briony- that Nico hang out with used that little knife of hers like it was an extension of her hand. Lilly needed to learn something. She couldn’t just be helpless.
But how could she learn how to defend herself when the very idea of violence made her feel faint? Blinding - Florence and the Machine

He actually disliked it. He hadn't gotten even the slightest wif of a monster. He sighed as he stuck his hands into his pockets. He walked around the camp until he found the archly fields. Hell, he could weld a bow and arrow like Artemis Goddess of the Hunt. He spotted a girl with fiery red hair, who was struggling with her arrows. He smiled and walked silently up behind her. "Hear...." he mused, and guided her arm a along with his. His large hands overlapped her's, fitting perfectly in the spaces between her fingers. He pulled back softly, and released, holding her arm so she wouldn't get to hurt if there was a back fire. The arrow glided through the air, and hit dead center. Kermit smiled and took teh bow and hung it over his shoulder. He held out his hand to the girl. "Kermit-Dane Louis. Son Of Zeus. How do you do my fair maiden?" he smiled sweetly.

”Here…”
Lilly froze as suddenly hands were on hers, her eyes wide. She had been so into what she had been doing that she hadn’t heard anyone approach- another sign that she was pretty much doomed the minute she decided to leave camp. She didn’t protest as the boy pulled the string back and let it fly, allowing the arrow to lodge firmly in the center of the bullseye. When he let go of her and took her bow from her, Lilly whirled, her long skirt swirling around her ankles. Her heart was hammering in her chest, and she could feel that her face was on fire from embarrassment at this unlikely situation. “Thank you,” she said after a moment, seeming at a loss.
He held his hand out to her, and not sure what he was looking for- no one had ever shaken Lilly’s hand before- she slid her own tentatively into his. Her skin was cold, something not uncommon in children of Hades, and pale even in the moonlight.
"Kermit-Dane Louis. Son Of Zeus. How do you do my fair maiden?"
He had a nice smile, she thought uncertainly, as her stomach flopped. She was so out of her league- she didn’t know how modern people did the whole courtship thing, and she had never found a reason to ask Nico about it. Simply, it hadn’t been on her mind… until now. Perhaps it should have been. “Lillian Scott. Lilly. I’m… a daughter of Hades.” She stumbled over her words, clearly flustered, and her blush deepened. “I’m quite well, thank you for asking….” She looked back at the arrow, as if wondering how it had got there, or more relevantly, how it had brought him there. “You’re quite… good… at that.”

"Oh, daughter of Hades? Well my dear, it seems as though we are cousins." he smiled cheekily. He tilted his head. "You look more..." he took a pause. Hades kids simply did not look like this. Green hair with pink highlights and black tips. This girl looked... Innocent, Cute, adorable even. His lips moved before he spoke, lightly lost in her eyes. "I'm glad to... hear that..." he said, holding a steady gaze. He just kept looking ta her, taking her in, memorizing her girlish face. He wanted nothing more than to reach out and touch, and twirl her fire hair. But, he restrained himself. He blinked as she spoke. "Oh, um, yea... Boyscout.... heh.." he said, still kind of lost. He closed his eyes tight, and shook his head. "Sorry... Just... ya know." she smiled slightly. "I got lost in a pretty girls eyes... had to find my way out..." He lifted his hand, and pinched her chin slightly, lifting her jaw up, staring at her. "Your pretty.." he mused sweetly.

"Oh, daughter of Hades? Well my dear, it seems as though we are cousins."
“Rather… distant… cousins.” Why in the name of Hades had she said that? What was wrong with her? Lilly shook her head slightly, trying to shake off the strange effect that Kermit had on her. Besides, she wasn’t sure gods had blood- how would that work, anyway, sharing a bloodline between demigods? Oh how her head hurt.
"You look more..."
“Like someone else’s child?” This brought a smile to her lips. She had been told it many times, particularly when she was standing next to Nico, and she had even thought it herself. In some ways, Lilly would have even given up her status as a daughter of Hades if anyone else would have claimed her. She didn’t fit in on so many levels. “It’s all right. You’re not the first one to think that.”
"I'm glad to... hear that..."
Lilly flushed, holding his gaze and wondering when he was going to drop her hand. She didn’t want to pull it away and seem rude, but it had been in his hand for too long to seem proper. Besides, she still wasn’t used to not wearing gloves, though as she had quickly found, the camp store didn’t sell the sort that she had been accustomed to wearing in her time- this simply made it one more adjustment she had to get used to, though it definitely felt strange.
"Oh, um, yea... Boyscout.... heh.."
She nodded slowly, but it was clear by the confusion on her face that she had no idea what he was talking about.
"Sorry... Just... ya know. I got lost in a pretty girls eyes... had to find my way out..."
Lilly’s eyes widened even more, and she looked like a deer in the headlights as he touched her face, lifting her chin. She seemed to have lost all sense of motion, and she didn’t resist at all- even though she knew she should. It was so easy to get lost in those blue eyes, however, and she stared, transfixed.
"Your pretty.."
“Thank you…” She said, though she felt her face heat up. She must have been bright red by now.

Kermit couldn't take it any more he leaned down and touched his lips to hers. He normally kissed hard, but that was when he was at a club of some sort. But now, in this open filed of green grass, and blue skies, he kissed her as softly as he could, like her lips where made of the most fragile glass ever made. His eyes where closed, and though he saw darkness through his eyelids, he saw sparks of lighting as he kissed her. He counted the seconds, and separated. he kept his eyes closed for a few moments than opened them , his eyes unfocused. His breath was slow, and his heart beat began to go in rapid thumps. His fingers where still pinching her chin. He took them away softly, still looking at her as if she where the only girl on earth. "I..." he whispered. "I'm sorry..." he whispered, but no regret in his voice. "Self control has...never been.. my strong point.." he moved his hand to the side of her face, stroking at long last her beautiful hair. "So...soft..." he mused.

Was he kissing her?!
Lilly felt his lips on her mouth, and unable to sort out a proper response, she felt her body supply one for her- she began to kiss him back, though a lot of warning flags were going up in her brain, not including one particularly loud one that asked WHAT IN THE WORLD ARE YOU DOING?!
Whatever it was, it was nice- and it felt wonderful. As such, Lilly didn’t bother trying to push him away, even though she knew she probably should have. She didn’t want to get a reputation for being one of those girls.
When he removed his hand from her chin, Lilly raised her hand to her lips as if trying to reassure herself that it had just happened, all the while trying to catch her breath. She had never been kissed, let alone kissed like that. She could see the appeal.
"I'm sorry..."
She shook her head, but she wasn’t sure which response was appropriate- don’t apologize for kissing me, or don’t apologize because it won’t be enough, and so she kept her mouth shut, trying to make her brain start working again.
"Self control has...never been.. my strong point.."
“I can see that,” she said slowly, her expression hard to read as she frowned at him.
"So...soft..."
Lilly continued to frown at him, taking a moment to collect herself while he stroked her long, red hair. She wasn’t quite certain what was going on here, but she was certain of one thing, and with a small, delicate step forward, Lilly pressed her lips to his again. To her mortification, she had enjoyed the first time… but she was sure she’d enjoy it even more the second.

This time, Lilly kissed him. He closed his eyes, and again, kissed her as softly as he had the first. Her lips where smooth, and tasted like strawberry's as far as her knew. As much as he wanted to, he didn't use his tongue on her. Surprisingly, this was enough. The soft kissing was perfect. He never wanted it to end. he stayed kissing her, seeing if she wanted to pull away. To make himself slightly more comfortable; he moved closer to her, and barely, just barely put his hand on her hip. He was barely touching, almost asking her permission. She was like a scared kitten, and he feared touching her might terrify her. So, he keep to his barely touching making sure to keep his pressure in his lips not to hard on her. He wanted this to be a good experience, which is why he hadn't grabbed her ass, and started grinding against her. But that, that didn't matter to him. This had meaning. And silently, he took an oath to protect this girl, to keep her safe till the day he died. he pulled away slightly, his nose still touching her's. "I...Won't let anything hurt you.." he whispered. "I swear Lilly...If anybody looks at you the wrong way.." he mused. The thought of that happening to her already made him feel like he needed to build her a safe house. He pulled further back, and retracted his hand as well. He got on one knee and one of his lighting blade shot out of his wrist. He slowly cut into his own skin on the other wrist, resulting in a small amount of blood. he put his hand at her feet, until there was a small red patch between her feet. He stood, and looked at her. "Thats my signature." he mused. "I know I just met you... but... I want to be your hero Lilly... I'll be your night in shinning armor, I'll go down to the underworld and ask Hades blessing to protect you if I must."

Lilly felt his hand against her hip, but it was like someone else was controlling her body- she couldn’t make herself pull away from him. When finally did, she stared at him, her expression muddled. She didn’t know whether to flee now, while she still could, or tempt fate and stay a little longer. Lilly had never drawn much attention to herself from guys, to say the least- her engagement in her lifetime had been arranged, and everyone else, past and present, had found her too freaky to want to stay around for too long. She couldn’t really blame them. Had she met someone that had been encased in gold for over a hundred years, she would have been alarmed by them, too.
"I...Won't let anything hurt you.."
Lilly looked up, still close enough to him that if she took a deep enough breath, they would be touching. “You hardly know me,” she pointed out, happy that some of her logic had returned. “Don’t make promises you can’t keep.”
"I swear Lilly...If anybody looks at you the wrong way.."
Her green eyes were surprisingly clear. “I can handle myself, Kermit,” she told him quietly, though it was hardly the truth. Lilly wasn’t made for this world, didn’t understand the rules or the motivations. She was hanging onto a rope that was tied to something so far over her head, she didn’t know whether it was friend or foe. Perhaps she was falling, and just didn’t know it. Or maybe, just maybe, she was flying. “Your intentions are kind, and I do appreciate them, but you don’t owe me anything.”
She made a soft noise, surprised, when she watched him cut himself and the blood well up. She moved to kneel and attend to his wound- surely even her old-fashioned methods would work for that, at least?- but he made a move and she stopped, hesitating, as he left a trail of blood right in front of her feet. Her eyes were searching as they fell on his face once more. What had just happened?
"Thats my signature."
Lilly stared at the blood. What had she just got herself into?
"I know I just met you... but... I want to be your hero Lilly... I'll be your night in shinning armor, I'll go down to the underworld and ask Hades blessing to protect you if I must."
Lilly’s face paled at the mention of her father, and she took another step back, shaking her head vehemently. “That’s not necessary, not at all. But…. Are you sure about this?”

Kermit nodded, very serious like. "I'm positive Lilly, I'm 100% positive." he mused. He had liked girls before, but nothing like this. He had never cut himself for a girl before. That, was something new. That, was something, or someone whispering into his ear to do it. To be kind to her, to love her, to keep her safe. he drew close to her again, and kissed her once again, softly, and pulled away softly. He starred into her eyes lovingly. He tucked a loose strand of red hair behind her ear, and smiled. "You have to be the prettiest girl I have ever met..." Than, Kermit's brain shut off for a split second. "Μπορείτε, Lillian Scott, κόρη του Άδη ο αδελφός μου, ο Θεός του Κάτω Κόσμου. Ο γιος μου, Κέρμιτ τέθηκε σε αυτόν τον κόσμο για σας. Περιποιηθείτε τον επίσης αγαπητό παιδί μου ... να τον μεταχειριστεί καλά ..." he blinked, and looked around, a little shaken. "What... What just happened?"

"I'm positive Lilly, I'm 100% positive."
Lilly shook her head again, not sure what to say. She couldn’t very well tell him what had happened to the last guy who had shown interest in her, what had made her so afraid to use her powers. She was a daughter of Hades, she was flawed- shouldn’t he be able to see that about her? Shouldn’t he be able to feel that she was wrong for him? However much her mind told her differently, however, Lilly couldn’t bear to speak the words aloud. She was a coward, and she would be his downfall.
But it felt so nice in his arms. It was like she belonged there, and Lilly couldn’t help but feel the déjà vu feeling that she had been made for that spot, right there, with him. And then something happened.
"Μπορείτε, Lillian Scott, κόρη του Άδη ο αδελφός μου, ο Θεός του Κάτω Κόσμου. Ο γιος μου, Κέρμιτ τέθηκε σε αυτόν τον κόσμο για σας. Περιποιηθείτε τον επίσης αγαπητό παιδί μου ... να τον μεταχειριστεί καλά ..."
Lilly took a step back, her eyes going wide, her pale skin going even paler. She understood every word, just as she understood exactly who was giving her that message- and why. It was a warning. Warnings from the gods that were unheeded were dangerous, and Lilly had never wanted godly attention. She didn’t want anything except to understand the world around her, and it became more and more frightening with every step.
"What... What just happened?"
“I’m sorry, I have to go.” Lilly backpeddled, nearly tripping over the hem of her skirt. She took off towards her cabin in an unladylike run, eager to escape.
